BERMUDA

THE ATLANTIC BASTION

A BRIEF HISTORY

In the year 1609, the 'Sea Venture', flagship of a British cargo fleet en-route to Jamestown Virginia, was ran aground off the east end of the the the uninhabited island archipelago known as Bermuda. Everyone on board made it to shore safely. Around 150 people were shipwrecked on the island for nine months. In that time they built a small settlement and constructed two small ships to continue their voyage on to Jamestown.
